Following an extensive search, the Board of Selectmen voted to approve Norwell Fire Chief Jeff Simpson as the new fire chief for the town of Marshfield by a 2-1 vote. Selectman Chris Rohland voted in favor of Halifax Fire Chief Jason Viveiros, the additional finalist for the position. Simpson will take over for Chief Bill Hocking, who retired after 34 years of service back in October.
